Philly Boricuas

We are a grassroots organization of Puerto Ricans organizing the diasporic community in Philadelphia. Colonialism has devastated the Puerto Rican community and it is time to stop turning our heads away from this reality.

The archipelago of Puerto Rico has endured 500 years of colonialism and oppression,120 of those years have been under U.S. rule. Economic exploitation, natural disasters, and political corruption have pushed our people off the island only to be met with more of the same or worse in search of the "American Dream".

Over 150,000 Boricuas living in the city of Philadelphia make up the largest group in the Latin American community. Our voice in local, state, and national politics is almost non-existent. We have to stand up for our community both here and on the island. We must give a voice to 3 million citizens in P.R.  by educating our community to elevate itself and advocate at a city, state, and federal level that government stop ignoring us.

Join us in strengthening our community by signing up for our  Newsletter or coming to our next Event.
